The Save dialog opens. The cursor blinks in the file name box. pdfMachine has read the first page and fills out the file name for you.
It never gets bored. You already are.
Naming one PDF is fine. Naming the fortieth this week, with the same care as the first, is a chore that nobody was hired for. pdfMachine names the fortieth exactly like the first - properly - while you get on with something that actually needs a human.
Print, Save. The file name makes sense.
Print to pdfMachine as usual. It reads the first page, works out what the document actually is, and names it: “Acme Supplies invoice 10234 March 2026”. You typed exactly none of those characters. It takes a few seconds - roughly the time you’d have spent staring at the cursor.
Particular about file names? So is it.
Set up your Options → Apply On Print → AI Filenaming to have file naming conventions, date formats, languages. Switch it on per printer, and edit the instructions it follows. Whatever your filing system demands - still no typing at save time.
